Pacific Electricity Wire and Cable co., LTD. (PEWC), originally known as "Pacific Wire Manufactory", was founded as first Wire and Cable factory in Taipei on April, 14th, 1950. Besides, PEWC had reorganized as "Pacific Electricity Wire and Cable co., LTD." and expanded business internationally on December, 30th, 1957. In 1963, PEWC was first Wire and Cable corporation to list in Taiwan stock market.

PEWC have two plants, Yangmei plant and Dasi plant, both located in Taoyuan City.

1.Yangmei Plant:
the area approximately 106,000 square meters, primary manufacture Power cable, Enamelled wire, Electric wire and other chemical materials used for cable.
2. Dasi Plant:
the area approximately 374,000 square meters, primary manufacture Communication cable and fiber optics cable.

Apart from continuing manufacturing and marketing in Taiwan, PEWC has expanded the manufactory and business office overseas including Singapore, Thailand, China, and Australia to become a world leading manufacturer. Integrate overseas wire and cable manufactures into Asia Pacific Wire & Cable Corporation Limited (Bermuda)(APWC), PEWC has expanded the market toward internaionalization.

As an essential industry, PEWC plays a role in supporting national construction by following the economic policies and guidelines to support the overall construction. In addition to the cable industry, PEWC has also integrated the transportation construction, rolling stock, and cable engineering with the cable demand development.

In the future, PEWC has continued to adjust the product portfolios, raise production efficiency and integrate with the industry trend such as 5G communication, renewable energy, electric vehicle (EV), Internet of Things(IoT), and artificial intelligence(AI) to enhance product competitiveness and the value of development. Expand the engineering project and integrate the up and down stream with the technique, PEWC transforms as engineering cable system integrator by introducing intelligent manufacturing system to become a competitive cable manufacturer.
